Get to know A Ribeira Sacra and its wines in the most traditional way in the hundred-year old Abelairas wine cellar in Vilachá de Salvadur. This wine cellar is composed of 42 stone constructions with slate roofs where you’ll taste a fine wine served with appetizers. You’ll walk to a Capela viewpoint located near the wine cellars set up to watch and photograph one of the most spectacular perspectives of the river Sil Canyon. You’ll also visit San Mamed winery where you taste distinctive Galician dishes depending on the season and prepared with homegrown food products.
You will, for example, savour home-cooked empanada (a typical Galician pie), homemade cold meat or broth according to the season, everything served with the wine produced from this small winery that has won several prizes. At the end of the day you’ll visit a pottery workshop characterized by its particular black jars formerly used in wine cellars and kitchens and handcrafted as it was in the past.
